Bread Machine Cinnamon Roll Recipe
Yes, you can easily make cinnamon rolls using a mixer instead of your bread machine. But there are reasons why I prefer to use my bread machine and have been for years.
- Throw everything in the bread machine and walk away
- It rises in a consistently warm space
- Less mess to clean up
- I don't need to heat up the oven for the dough to rise

Ingredients for the Dough
- 1 cup of warm water
- 1 tbsp yeast
- 1 tbsp white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 4 cups of flour
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup of white sugar
- 1 tsp salt
Ingredients for the Filling
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 2 1/2 tbsp cinnamon
- 4-6 tbsp of butter (depends on how big/flat your roll out the dough)
How to Make Bread Machine Cinnamon Rolls
Start by adding the warm water, yeast, and tablespoon of white sugar to your bread machine pan. Let it rise so the yeast is fluffy.
Add the remaining ingredients. Remember, salt kills yeast, so add it after the flour.
Use the dough setting on your bread machine to mix and rise your dough, but not bake it. If you don't have a dough setting look a for pizza setting.
Once the dough has risen it's time to make cinnamon rolls. Roll it out on a flat, floured surface. I use an extra large baking mat to roll my dough out on, which makes for easy cleanup.
Roll it out into a large rectangle, about 1/2 an inch thick.
I stopped mixing my filling ingredients for an easier method of doing this. I melt the butter and spread it on. Spread the brown sugar over it, and then sprinkle on the cinnamon.
I have also started slicing my cinnamon rolls before rolling them. This prevents them from getting squished when you cut them. It makes it so much easier to roll as well.
After slicing and rolling place them in a greased 9X13 pan. Cover in a warm place, like on top of your stove while you preheat the oven for about 30 minutes, covered to rise.
Bake for 20 minutes or until baked through.
I do not make frosting. Ever. I buy it. These are delicious topped with cream cheese frosting. I like to add it 5-10 minutes after they come out of the oven so that it can melt down into the cracks and rolls.
